I don’t want to speak too soon but I think I’ve found something. No, I did find something. This is exciting because I’ve been searching for a long time. I’ve put together a very playable, modular hardware looper. This system is based around the Make Noise Morphagene and 4ms Dual Looping Delay.
I call it The Time & Sound Machine. 
It was deeply inspired by Soundtoys’ PrimalTap plugin and the Make Noise Tape & Microsound Music Machine which I don’t own but it was a great example of a modular system based entirely around recordings and samples and loops. The ALM System Coupe also rings these bells. Very excited about this branch of modular systems.
There was a lot of slogging to get to this point. I guess I want people (and myself) to know that slogging isn’t a waste of time. I hardly ever know where things are going. But they do go somewhere eventually.
I’m writing this to remind myself what it was like at the beginning of this thing. Because it does feel like a thing. I’m uncomfortable writing that and trying to hedge my bets as I’m typing but it feels like something.
