This technique has served me too well and I had to share. I originally saw it in one of those “well known artist’s producer shows tricks for plugin company” kinda video. The producer was talking about transitions and creating your own elements. Then he mentioned this:
- export an entire track/mix with a crazy, fully wet, reverb on the master
- bring it back into your DAW and reverse it
- slice up parts that make great transition/build sounds
This has given me something useful every time I’ve used it. And since it’s always based on the track you’re working on, it’s unique to that track. Just did this tonight. Here’s what it sounds like:
