Here are some of the things I use. Not all of them. Always learning.

  • My current goal is to stop seeking the new and see what I can get out of what I already have. And perhaps pair down. I do have quite a bit.
  • 2[software] 3[@[Bitwig>https://www.bitwig.com/en/home.html]] My DAW of choice. I really don’t think there is a best” DAW. Bitwig is very modern and very modular. I grown attached to this approach and now would find it difficult to switch.

3[@[Maschine>https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/maschine/production-systems/maschine/]] The Maschine MK3 is one of the most inspiring tools I’ve ever used and I hate so much about it. But I love so much about it too and so far, can’t stop using it. It keeps giving me things worth exploring.

3[@[Orca>https://100r.co/site/orca.html]] The most unique sequencer I use and my introduction to using code for music. Well worth a look.

2[hardware] 3[@[norns>https://monome.org/docs/norns/]] What can I really say about norns? Like most things from monome, it shows you potential without explaining itself. It is a world to explore. 3[@[arc>https://monome.org/docs/arc/]] Mysterious potential in rhythms, shapes, and sounds.

2[outboard] 3[@[X73i>http://vintech-audio.com/x73i_info.html]] I don’t know enough to know why this thing is good but I know enough to really like using it. 3[@[Alesis Quadraverb>]] I wanted an @[OTO BAM>https://www.perfectcircuit.com/oto-machines-bam-space-generator-reverb.html] but couldn’t justify the expense. Feels nice getting great sounds out of something affordable that came out 32 years ago.

2[synthesizers] 3[@[OB-6>https://www.sequential.com/product/ob-6/]] I’ve thought about selling this many times but every time I turn it on, I’m glad I still have it.

3[@[PERfourMER MKII>https://www.vermona.com/en/products/synthesizer/product/perfourmer-mkii/]] I just love this design and love it’s sound. Gives me those SH-101 vibes x 4.

3[@[Voltage Research Lab>https://pittsburghmodular.com/voltage-research-laboratory]] Kickstarted. Honestly, I funded this before my Depth Year and I don’t regret it one bit. It really does sound organic in the nature sense. Woodsy, rainy, thumpy, lovely.

2[drum machines] 3[@[Digitakt>https://www.elektron.se/products/digitakt/]] First drum machine. The Elektron way is a thing of legend.

2[acoustic/electric] 3[Stratocaster] My first and favorite guitar. 3[p-bass] My second and favorite bass. 3[Wurlitzer Model A] Speaks for itself. 3[@[Gamelan strips>https://www.morfbeats.com/product-page/chromatic-gamelan-strips]] Unique and beautiful. 3[@[eKalimba>https://www.patch-point.com/ekalimba/photo]] It sounds like walking in a forest with bouncing marbles.

2[modular] This is a #[rabbit_hole] in itself. I need to think about how to approach this.
